Broncs featured among NJ.com's top teams of 2016-17
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Four Rider University athletic teams were recently featured in an NJ.com article showcasing the state's most successful Division I collegiate teams of 2016-17. The MAAC title-winning men's soccer, men's indoor track & field and men's swimming & diving squads made the list, as did the wrestling team, which finished 21st at NCAA's and featured a pair of All-Americans (Chad Walsh, Ryan Wolfe) in legendary head coach Gary Taylor's final season. Taylor climbed the all-time Division I dual wins list to third with 422 career victories.
Meanwhile, Swimming & Diving Head Coach Steve Fletcher and Track & Field Head Coach Bob Hamer earned MAAC Coach of the Year honors. Hamer also took USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Indoor Coach of the Year, while junior Tyree Adams was named MAAC Field Most Outstanding Performer. Junior swimmer Zack Molloy also earned his second-straight MAAC Swimmer of the Meet honor and earned CollegeSwimming.com Division I National Swimmer of the Week for his record-shattering performance at the MAAC Championships.
