 Steve Cunha

Steve Cunha was named the Assistant Director of Sports Communications/Technology Coordinator at Rider University in January of 2017. With the Broncs, he will serve as the main contact for field hockey, women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, swimming & diving, baseball, track & field and cross country. In addition, Cunha will coordinate 'BroncVision' the live audio and video aspects of the website and oversees the editing and posting of full game archives, game highlights and interviews.

Before coming to Rider, he served as the Sports Information Director at Albertus Magnus College from September of 2015 to December of 2016. While with the Falcons, he oversaw the redesign of the athletic department website AlbertusFalcons.com. He also helped increase the department’s social footprint with an emphasis on using graphic design and video highlights to build the athletic department brand on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Cunha joined Albertus after serving as a Sports Communications Assistant for the Trinity College Athletic Department in Hartford, Conn. In his position at Trinity, he provided communications support for Trinity Athletics, including game coverage, media relations, social media, and web-based communications. Some of his other responsibilities were designing and editing of game programs and department publications, maintenance of the athletics web site, management of social media presence and maintenance of historical records and statistics.

Prior to his stint at Trinity, Cunha worked at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire as the was the main contact for women’s hockey, men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s tennis.

Cunha also served as a Sports Information Assistant at UMass Dartmouth (Mass.) and was the Assistant Director for Sports Communications at the University of North Georgia.  At UMass Dartmouth, he served as the primary media contact for half of the University's 23 varsity sports, while at UNG, he was the main contact for baseball and women’s basketball.

Cunha completed his Bachelor’s degree in Communication-Media Studies with a minor in Sports Management in May 2009 from the Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I. While at Salve, he was an assistant in the Sports Information office for a year.

Cunha is a current member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA).

Steve currently lives in Lawrence Township with his wife, Keren.
