M. Basketball
Against La Salle Senior Ryan Thompson (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) scored 16 points. A three point field goal by Thompson cut the lead to four, 56-52, and his two foul shots made it 58-54 with 5:36 remaining. A dunk by junior Mike Ringgold (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic) cut the lead to 60-56 with 4:00 left and his tip in with 3:15 cut the lead to 60-58. Two foul shots by junior Jhamar Youngblood (Elizabeth, N.J./St. Patrick's) with 1:44 left cut the lead to 62-60, but that was as close as the Broncs could get. Ringgold finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Youngblood finished with eight points and six assists and sophomore Novar Gadson (Philadelphia, Pa./John Bartram) scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.  Against Marist junior Justin Robinson (London, England/Blair Academy) scored 18 points, including two foul shots with 2.4 seconds left. Robinson made four foul shots in the final 33 seconds.  Jhamar Youngblood made two foul shots with 20 seconds left to give Rider a 52-49 lead. Youngblood finished with 12 points.  Ryan Thompson made one foul shot, his only point of the game, with 12.5 seconds left to give Rider a 53-51 lead. With the score tied at 39-39 with 5:15 remaining, Rider went on an 8-0 run, four points each by Novar Gadson and Youngblood, to take a 47-39 lead with 1:41 remaining. Gadson finished with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Against St. Joe Justin Robinson compiled 21 points, five rebounds and three steals. Rider trailed 60-54 before out-scoring Saint Joseph's 14-1, five points by Ryan Thompson, to take a 68-61 lead with 4:20 left to play. Thompson finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Mike Ringgold had 16 points, a game-high nine rebounds and four assists, as Rider out-rebounded the Hawks 44-32.  Making his first start for Rider, Jhamar Youngblood  added 16 points. Against Binghamton Thompson scored 21 points, 12 in the final 5:38, to lead Rider to a come-from-behind win. Binghamton led 46-44 before Rider went on a 12-2 run, nine points by Thompson, to take a 56-48 lead with :53 left to play.

Against Princeton junior Cintella Spotwood (Trenton/Trenton Central) and senior Amanda Sepulveda (Perth Amboy/Hun) each scored 14 points and freshman Caitlin Bopp (Baltimore, Md./Inst. Of Notre Dame) grabbed 15 rebounds. At Fordham freshman Caitlin Bopp (Baltimore, Md./Inst. Of Notre Dame) had a 'double-double' with 11 points and 15 rebounds (six offensive) and three blocks with senior Tammy Meyers (Willingboro) adding 17 points. Meyers got Rider to within three with two free throws at the 2:24 mark but that was as close as the Broncs could get. Trailing 54-43 with 9:41 left, Rider used an 11-0 run, six points by Cintella Spotwood to tie the game at 54, the fourth and final tie of the afternoon.  Spotwood finished with 15 points and five rebounds and tied a career-high with four three-pointers in 38 minutes of play. Meyers scored the first four points of the game and Rider held an early 11-6 lead on back to back three-pointers by Spotwood and Amanda Sepulveda.  Sepulveda, in 39 minutes, had 11 points and five rebounds. Against Florida Gulf Coast senior Amanda Sepulveda (Perth Amboy/Hun) scored 11 points and Caitlin Bopp added eight points and nine rebounds. Against Akron Sepulveda had 17 points.  Against FDU junior Cintella Spotwood (Trenton Central) had 23 points and Sepulveda added 20. In win over Monmouth Spotwood had 18 points, 12 in the second half.

Wrestling
At Cliff Keen senior heavyweight Ed Bordas (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) placed fifth and sophomore 197 Tyler Smith (Phillipsburg, N.J./Belvidere) placed seventh. Smith won six of eight bouts, Bordas won five of seven. On Saturday Bordas, the seventh seed who is ranked 17th in the nation, defeated Kyle Frey of Drexel 6-0. Against the number one seed, Mitch Monteiro of Cal State Bakersfield who is ranked fourth in the nation, Bordas lost 6-1. In the battle for fifth place, Bordas won by medical forfeit over the tenth seed, Bill Nye of Arizona State. Smith, unseeded, won five of six matches on Friday, all five by pin. On Saturday Smith was pinned by Chad Hanke of Oregon State in 6:53 while leading 1-0. Smith pinned Hanke on Friday in his first bout of the tournament. In the battle for seventh place, Smith pinned Matt Powless of Indiana in the third period while holding an 11-6 lead, his sixth pin of the tournament. Bordas won his first two matches on Friday to reach the quarterfinals before losing to the second seed from Nebraska who is ranked seventh in the nation. Bordas came back to win in the consolation round late Friday night. On Friday Smith pinned Chad Hanke of Oregon State in 5:23 in the pigtails and then pinned the tenth seed, Jay Hahn of Bucknell in 1:53 of the first round.  In the second round Smith lost 6-2 to the seventh seed, Anthony Biondo of Michigan who is ranked 14th in the nation. Smith pinned Anthony Pike of Arizona State in :55 in the consolation round. Smith then pinned Jack Callander of Drexel in 1:19 and pinned the eighth seed, Patrick Bond of Illinois in 3:30.Bond is ranked 17th in the nation.

Swimming
At Bucknell senior Kellyanne Tomasula (Sussex/Vernon Township) won the 200 backstroke (2:01.29), swam on winning 400 free relay (3:30.27), and was second in the 100 backstroke (56.12).  In the 100 back preliminaries, Tomasula swam a Rider record 55.54, an NCAA 'B' qualifying time. It marked just the fourth time in Rider swimming history that a 'B' cut time had been achieved. Senior Amanda Burke (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) won both the one-meter dive (300.45) and the three-meter dive (309.25) and senior Paul Apostolakis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) won the one-meter dive with a personal best score of 324.35 and was second in the three-meter dive (329.80).
