Senior Ryan Thompson (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) compiled 31 points, including six in the final 1:06, and seven rebounds to lead over Niagara. Rider trailed 51-40 before going on a 15-0 run, five points by Thompson and four points each by junior Justin Robinson (London, England/Blair Academy) and junior Jhamar Youngblood (Elizabeth, N.J./St. Patrick's), to take a 55-51 with 5:49 left to play, Rider's first lead since 15-14. That was the third and final lead change of the game. Robinson finished with 14 points before fouling out. Youngblood finished with four points and a career-high nine rebounds. Trailing 37-23 at halftime, Rider out-scored Niagara 11-4 to start the second half, five points by Thompson, to cut the lead to 41-34. Against Loyola Rider cut the lead to 75-73 with 2:35 remaining on a basket by Justin Robinson but that was as close as the Broncs could get. Robinson finished with a game-high 19 points, as five Broncs scored in double figures.

At Canisius sophomore Sarah Homan (Upper Darby, Pa./Delco Christian) tied a career-high with 14 points and junior Cintella Spotwood (Trenton/Trenton Central) added 13. Homan notched her first career 'double-double' with 10 rebounds with Spotwood pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out five assists in 37 minutes of play. Despite a career-high 26 points from senior Amanda Sepulveda (Perth Amboy/Hun) the Broncs lost at Niagara. Sepulveda's third three-pointer of the first half gave Rider its biggest lead, 20-12. The Broncs opened the game shooting 59 percent from the field (eight for 15), including four for eight from three-point range. Freshman Carleigh Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) led the Broncs with seven rebounds as Rider held a 40-31 rebounding advantage.

The Broncs won 14 of 19 against Duquesne and Clarion. Against Clarion, sophomore Tyler Smith (Phillipsburg, N.J./Belvidere) won by fall for the 12th time this season to give Rider a 20-19 lead. Smith, sophomore Jimmy Kirchner (Somerville) and freshman Jim Resnick (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and all won twice on the day. Kirchner had a tech fall and a pin. Senior Ed Bordas (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) won by tech fall for the final score against Clarion. Junior Rob Morrison (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) won twice, by forfeit against Duquesne.

Seniors Amanda Burke (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) and Paul Apostolakis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) of the Rider University swimming and diving team competed at the 2010 USA Diving Winter National Championships, hosted by Ohio State University Monday afternoon. Burke placed fifth in the finals of the one-meter (259.95) with Apostolakis finishing 11th in the quarter-finals on the one-meter board (282.45).

At the New Balance Invitational the men's DMR won with an IC4A qualifying time of 9:57.37, a Rider record, with junior Christian Gonzalez (Somerset/Franklin Twp.), freshman Daequan Kim (Bordentown), sophomore David South (Sergeantsville/Hunterdon Central) and junior Michael Soroko (Kinnelon) competing. The women's DMR of sophomore Heather Giovagnoli (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford), freshman Ashley Hunter (Northampton, Pa./Northampton), junior Johanna Clarke (Laurelton, N.Y./Mary Louis Academy) and junior Chelsea Callan (Hazlet/Raritan) finished with a Rider record time of 12:10.12. Against TCNJ senior Alicia Price (Voorhees/Eastern) won the weight throw in an ECAC qualifying distance (16.33m) and won the shot put (12.95m). Chris Gonzalez won the 1,000m in an IC4A qualifying time of 2:27.53, junior John Clark (Pennsville) won the weight throw with an IC4A qualifying distance of 16.80 meters and won the shot put (15.46m), freshman David Hightower (Easton, Pa.) placed second in the hurdles with an IC4A qualifying time of 7.61 and Michael Soroko won the mile (4:18.62). The men's 4 x 800 meter relay of freshman Greg Wesh (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), Gonzalez, John Hill (Voorhees/Eastern) and Soroko won in an IC4A qualifying time of 7:50.8. Freshman Caitlin Vanek (Riegelsville, PA/Wilson) won the long jump (5.30m) and won the triple jump (10.98m), freshman Erin McMullin (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) won the 200m (26.06), Chelsea Callan won the 1,000m (2:59.75) and Heather Giovagnoli won the 3,000m (10:35.15). Also for the Rider men freshman Jammar Lim (Ewing) won the high jump (1.93m), freshman Perry Asare (Lindenwold) won the triple jump (13.53m), Daequan Kim won the 200m (22.68).
