Head Coach Barry Davis 2012 Blog
With the first weekend under our belt, we get an extra week to prepare for a challenging weekend at Appalachian State. Our starting pitching was our strong point this past weekend, allowing only three runs in 22.1 innings pitched.
We showed signs of being able to steal a few bases vs. a solid catcher. We'll see if that continues.
I thought we struggled at the plate at times, but for now we will chalk that up as early season rust. The defense made only three errors in 35 innings, so I feel good about our showing there.
Five freshmen made at least one start and this early season experience can only help us down the road.
The weather in New Jersey has been very good so hopefully over the nine days we can iron out some of the kinks.
